Copy trading

Copies & risk

Manage every master you copy, and protect your account with daily loss limits.

Active Copies

Each “copy” is the link between one of your accounts and one master. Active Copies lists the copies on the account selected as your Active Broker, with how much you allocated, what you've made from that master (Your P/L), what the master made (Trader P/L) and how many trades were copied. Switch accounts in the sidebar to see the others.

Statuses

An active copy receives every new trade. A paused copy receives nothing new but keeps its allocation, and resumes on its own at the time shown on the card. Stopping a copy removes it completely and frees its allocation.

Actions

Use this to sit out a day, for example around big news. Every copy on the account is paused until the US trading day ends (Eastern time), then all of them resume automatically. Open positions aren't touched; you just stop receiving new trades.

Use ✕ on Active Copies or Unfollow on Master Traders. You'll be asked whether to close the positions copied from this master: if yes, TradePilot cancels open orders and closes those positions at market; if no, they stay in your broker for you to manage. Either way, the copy is removed and its allocation becomes free.

☑ Close all open positions

Ticked by default. Closes everything copied from this master.

☐ Unticked

Positions stay open. Manage them in your broker.

Daily loss limits

How it works

At the start of each trading day TradePilot records your account balance as a baseline. It then keeps checking your account during the day. If the account falls by your chosen percentage from that baseline, TradePilot pauses every copy on that account, closes its open positions and notifies you. The next day, copying resumes automatically with a fresh baseline.

Example: a $25,000 baseline with a 20% limit pauses copying if the account drops to about $20,000 that day. Each account has its own limit; your other accounts are unaffected.

If a master's OANDA account drops 10% in a day, their followers are paused and copied OANDA positions are closed until the US day ends.
